Our family's road trip to West Malaysia #11
After several glorious days relaxing and hanging out in Cameron Highlands, we commenced our driving days once again and took our kids through Ipoh, catching Kellie's Castle on the way, then heading through Bidor for a fantastic lunch of duck noodles at Pun Chun, before arriving at Avillion Port Dickson.
While Cameron Highlands was all about very chilly cool air and beautiful mountain scenery, Port Dickson was the hot beach part of our holiday. The kids immediately jumped into their wetsuits and had some beach play. It was our first time at the Avillion and we found it very family friendly:
1. There were chickens & peacocks roaming the hotel freely, to the delight of the kids.
2. There was a playground and small kids' playroom.
3. There was a lovely swimming pool, with jacuzzi and slide.
It also helped that we found amazing food at nearby Lukut by surfing various blogs.
While we were in Port Dickson, we started hearing over Facebook about the horrible haze in Singapore. In a day, the PSI went up from 190 to 290, then to the 300s and finally hitting 400 (hazardous levels) after 2 days! As a result, we decided to extend our stay in Port Dickson by one day.
By the next day, when the haze was still bad in Singapore, the haze also arrived in Port Dickson! Hence, Husband made the executive decision to....extend our holiday into the weekend.... and drive to.... PENANG!!!
Yes, it was an extremely spur of the moment decision, but we had people in Singapore telling us it was not wise to return. A PSI of 400 was the worst Singapore had ever experienced! And things did not seem to be getting any better. Moreover, we could not stay in Port Dickson any longer since the haze was reaching us already!
So to Penang we went!
