I took this video of Dan reading to Esther in early March, but didn't have time to post it up till now.
I love it how Dan is slowly learning to be more kind & gentle to babies, including his own sister. If you listen carefully during the video, you'll hear Dan sort of giggling and speaking quite tenderly to his sister at points. I think he's sort of picked that up from us. Hee. Also, you'll notice the way Esther is very attentive and alternates between looking at the book and looking directly at Daniel. It's very sweet.
Being the eldest, I will often ask Daniel to read to Esther, take her to change her diaper, entertain her or remove her from a dangerous position. He is often despatched to do such things while I am busy with something else, and very often he has to deal with a very loud, wailing baby sister who does not want to be read to/have her diaper changed/entertained/removed from a dangerous position.
There was once, Daniel came back to me crying because Esther had hit him in the eye while he was trying to play with her. So poor thing! Still, Dan is the sort who bears no grudges, so all was forgotten soon enough.
I'm very glad that both Dan and Ben like to play with Esther and find her "so cute" and "pretty". I pray this kind of sibling relationship will continue to grow and improve as they grow up. =)
