A trip to the Railway Tracks

Posted by spots (Singapore, Singapore) on 30 July 2011 in Architecture and Portfolio.

So we finally made it to the railway tracks for a walk.

This is the last weekend parts of the track will be open to the public--we walked from Rifle Range Road down to the Bukit Timah Railway Station, and back. Our leisurely jaunt, which included many stops for photo-taking and exploration took just under an hour, with the boys thoroughly enjoying themselves. There was a lovely festive atmosphere about the place--with groups of young pony-tailed girls wearing Nature Club T-shirts, families, and serious-minded looking amateur photographers, bending in strange positions to get the "best artistic shot", all milling around. I saw at least 2 girls jumping up in mid-air to get that "look i'm suspended in mid-air" photograph.

Haha.

This is one of my favourite shots from our family outing--Esther is just about to cry as she is summarily placed on the warm metal tracks for a photo-op. Daddy looks on serenely. The boys are off taking their own pictures, using an old camera of my Dad's.
