We have just finished the first week of the school holidays--I decided to sign Daniel up for a junior robotics workshop, together with K & HL's kids and Andrew from KBK! Organised by the Children's Technology Workshop, Daniel was introduced to basic robotic computer programming using We Do, a programme licensed by Lego, and using Lego blocks. Daniel built a Lego robotic monkey, lion, crocodile and bird during the 5 day course. The "robots" had motion sensors and you could also programme various sounds and movements. He thoroughly enjoyed it, given his interest in Lego, and I'm excited at this introduction to the robotic world!
As usual, Ben was too young for this course, so I signed him up for the same MAD ABOUT series that his brother went for last year--as usual, Cicada Eco-Tree classes are very informative, and I was amazed (once again) at the rate of retention of information after the class!
With 3 kids in tow this holiday, I think I'm going to be slightly less "on" and do less activities. I still remember June 2010, when I planned many outdoor activities and nature elements, despite being heavily pregnant. This time round, I am feeling a bit more "nua", especially because our house is bigger and it feels more comfortable just to play at home all day, or go for a quick swim every afternoon, as the swimming pool is just downstairs. Will report more on the hols as we move along! =)
