Ode to Mila's Daydreams

This is my ode to Mila's Daydreams. See here for the original and far superior version.

I call this one: Reaching Out for Andrew. =)

Esther is definitely more wakeful now. But she's also still rather sleepy! Here's her "pattern". Her first feed of the day is when she's the hungriest! Then, she'll stay awake for between 40-45mins batting her toys in the playgym or being carried around by myself, daddy, her brothers, etc., Her second feed of the day is her SLEEPIEST. For some reason, she feeds badly during this feed, which occurs between 10 and 11am. And she promptly returns to daydreamland after feeding. This is usually the more frustrating feed, where most of the threats about giving up breastfeeding & giving her up for adoption are muttered under my breath!

Thankfully, there is the third feed--where once again, she is wakeful and happy. She'll stay awake for another 40-45mins in the playgym. At this time, both her brothers are back home from school & so it's quite lively. Then, finally, there's the fourth feed, which is around 5.30-6pmish. Once again, she'll stay awake after the feed and I'll take the opportunity to bathe her to kind of keep her awake... she starts nodding off around 7+, so I feed her again and send her off to sleep for the evening.

We have a fifth feed at 10.30/11pm... and then it's "pray that she doesn't wake up till morning" time! She has been sleeping 6-7 hours through the night, BUT, it's not stable and sometimes, she'll still wake in the middle of the night.

Yesterday, Esther was 5 weeks old! It seems like a lifetime, really!!

Keep up the good work! Breastfeeding is not as easy as it sounded. I had a tough time breastfeeding my extremely sleepy and lazy no 2. I am FTWM, she doesn't feed long, I was so afraid that my milk supply will dip that I actually did tandem pumping while feeding her. Come to think about it, I was so silly, ended up having oversupply and always kena blocked ducts *ouch!*

Is it fun to have a baby again? Who does Esther look like? Is the transition from 2 to 3 harder than from 1 to 2 kids? Or easier?

Hi Emily =) I have to confess, this time round, the transition from 2 to 3 kids has been very smooth, but that's because I have a helper and my 2 kids are older & in school. They also play with each other pretty well, so there's less stress having to deal with them. Hmm.... you thinking of number 3 i assume ? =)
