For the June holidays, Wednesdays have been designated "Play with Samuel" days, Samuel being my brother's son, who is in K2 this year. I was just a leetle bit nervous about Sam spending the whole day at our house--he & Daniel get along famously, but sometimes, Ben tends to get hurt and sensitive because he feels "left out" when Dan & Sam get together. It's funny how even though Dan & Ben play well together when they are alone at home, when a third person is inserted into the picture, like Sam, the dynamics immediately change and Ben is "abandoned".
Well, I took a lot of pains to remind Dan that he should include Ben in all the games/activities that they do, e.g., Ben should not be the "bad guy" that Sam & Dan shoot at, etcetc. (sigh! slap forehead!)
And thank God, the whole day went smoothly! My mum who was around to spend time with her 3 grandsons in the morning happily reported that there had been no fighting at all. THANK GOD! I arrived back home from work in time to bring Sam & Dan out for a short playground time while Ben took his nap. Thereafter, the 2 older boys had a snack and did some drawing while Ben roused from his nap, and then we all piled into the car to explore Tiong Bahru Park. It was Sam's first time there, so everybody was very excited.
I saw a few other mums/maids staring at me impressed, as if I were the mother of these 3 boys and wow, what a feat that is! HAHA.
I promised Sam I'd bring the kids to 8Q @ SAM next week. We shall see...
