Octopus and clock pizzas

Posted by spots (Singapore, Singapore) on 2 June 2010 in Food & Cuisine and Portfolio.

Still on Monday (31 May). The day ended with me & the kids making interesting pizzas for the family. We got the ideas from Geronimo Stilton's Cookbook , the soft cover version of which I had found at Carrefour Suntec.

I have to say, this cooking event was pretty interesting. The kids used Kraft cheese and ham to cut out shapes like circles, flowers, hearts, apples and crescent moons. (Yes, I am amazed that I had all these cookie cut out shapes! We even used the pineapple tart moulds to create flower shapes!). We made the hands of the clock using ham and the octopus was "sculpted" from a hotdog! bwahaha.

If you're into interesting foods, you should get a hold of this interesting cookbook. It shows you how to make pizza with faces on it, or soups with boats on them. And so on. Very quirky and funny. =)

The kids really enjoyed the pizza, eating 4 slices each, even though the dough was rather stretchy and hard (something to do with the fact that it had been frozen before, I think). I didn't follow the pizza dough recipe in the cookbook, using the tried-and-tested recipe I always use instead. We topped off dinner with leftover cupcakes from husband's birthday. A thoroughly enjoyable dinner.
