Still on the busy weekend! On Saturday, we attended the launch of the Helix Bridge, that strange rather ugly looking thing that spans the Singapore River. I discovered that the bridge is a pedestrian bridge that links people from Marina Square / Millenia Walk side to the new, upcoming Science Museum, which has yet to be completed. That made the sciency shape of the Helix Bridge a lot more understandable.
The highlight of the launch was the speech by Mah Bow Tan. Just kidding. It was the fireworks. (Hey, but I actually thought Minister Mah's speech was not too bad!) There is just something very special about watching fireworks up close. It will enthrall me no matter how old I get. I appreciated being able to witness it right before my eyes. Praise God for the opportunity!
