Daniel's kindy was closed today cos of Youth Day. Ben's childcare was still open, so Daniel got to spend some one on one time with Mummy. A very rare thing, I realised. Ever since Benjamin was born, Dan has never had one on one time with Mummy. Everything had to be shared--food, time, toys, books, life. I was kind of glad that school closure gave us time to spend together--I had forgotten what a charming boy Daniel is (when he's not squabbling with Benjamin!).... I really love the conversations we have cos they are always so entertaining, and Daniel is so chatty. When there's a pause in the conversation, he'll suddenly change the topic, e.g., *slight pause in conversation*, followed by Daniel saying, "You know, Mummy, I've never seen a crocodile or a shark before!" I really wonder what he was thinking about!
Today's funniest conversation came from having bird poop on our car. Husband & I parked the car in an open air car park in Orchard Road over the weekend. Orchard Road has really become a large bird aviary of bird PESTS, cos after a couple of hours, our car was indescribably splattered wth bird poop. While driving to West Coast Park, Dan was wondering out loud, "I don't know why there is so much bird poop on our car, Mummy." (Mummy grunts in silence.) Dan continues, "Maybe, maybe the birds thought our car was.... a.... TOILET!" I burst out laughing.
Anyway, the time at West Coast Park was fun. Dan likes all the obstacle challenges, and I even treated him to a MacDonalds Orange Juice. What was also great was bumping into an old friend at the park, and chatting a bit, while her son and mine played together. That was really nice. :)
Praise God for a good morning with Dan. I haven't had this "one child" feeling in a while. One child is really quite pleasant and manageable, compared to 2!
