A wedding over the weekend provided much food for thought. For one, it sparked off this entry. And for another, the groom talked about having a checklist of things he wanted in his wife, and that reminded me that I used to have a Husband checklist too.
Here is something I wrote on 2 May 2005 in my blog:
Ever made a checklist for the kind of guy you wanted to marry?
As I was cleaning up the spare room today, to prepare it for Baby Daniel, I came across a scrap of paper, torn off on two sides, on which I had scribbled a list of qualities I hoped for in my future husband. I don't remember when I had written it, but it's probably during my early working days. Here's what it said:
loves me + only me
a gentle voice
easy laughter
drive
principled
tender
sensitive
christian
mature
appreciates sweetness/silliness
wise
Over the years, I had forgotten my checklist. But now that I stare at it, I am amazed and humbled that God has given me 11 out of 11. Praise Him for answered prayers! ^__^
If you have a checklist, do share it with me too, ya? ^__^
