Ben: 3 months old & in rabbit suit

So now that Ben has been sleeping through the night consistently for a couple of weeks, I've started recovering from sleep deprivation & have found more energy surging through my veins. We've been taking Ben out a bit more - other than Church, we took Ben out to Half Moon Bay a few days ago, and we'll be taking him cherry picking in Brentwood this weekend! One of the fun things about having an infant is you get to dress him up any way you want! As with Dan, we pull Ben's pants up to his nipples to give him the ever-trendy (cough) Ah-Pek look. And we also put this "rabbit" jacket on Ben to get him ready for his Half Moon Bay outing. Isn't he cuute? Dan was so tickled by the sight - he kept pointing at Ben and saying "rabbit! rabbit!" HOHOHO.

At 3 months old, Ben is definitely much more wakeful & alert. Gone are the days when he hardly opened his eyes (i.e. the first week or more of his life). And he is also more able to follow Gina Ford's routines, though not exactly to the tee. (But that's ok with me, since I never really followed her strictly anyway). One thing I really appreciate about Ben is his ability to fall asleep naturally, without fuss or crying. Those of you who know Dan will know that, when he was a baby, he would have to cry himself to sleep, for naps and for bedtime. But for Ben, he is SO EASY to put to sleep. Just swaddle him, fully awake, and he quietly goes to sleep. OR, sometimes he falls asleep in his chair or on his playmat! Sometimes, he DOES fuss a bit when it gets closer to nap time, but by the time I carry him up to his room, he's asleep! And all that is left for me to do is swaddle him and that's it! PRAISE GOD! I hope that this easy-going-ness continues, even as he gets more wakeful!

We are already getting to know about Ben's behavior from the above. But kids change behavior frequently too. We remember Dan's naughty pre-sleep routine. Hope that Ben's "easy-to-sleep" way stays.
