Dan and Ben sleeping together in double decker bed

We finally decided to put in some effort and make the kids' room nicer and more homey. Since we returned to Singapore in June 2007, the kids' room has been quite bare--there was Dan's junior bed, and a couple of old bookshelves containing kiddy books as well as quite a few of Husband's MBA texts! Quite sad for a kids' room right?

Since June this year, we finally moved Dan and Ben into the same room to sleep together. We should have done it long ago, but honestly, we just got lazy. Ben has slept in his playpen ALL HIS LIFE. We even lug it along (it's collapsible) on holidays and church camps! So, we simply moved the playpen into the kids' room and Dan and Ben slept happily together! I did find that it was IMPOSSIBLE for them to take naps together since they have different napping patterns--Ben sleeps almost immediately when put down at 1.30pm. But Dan actually lies in bed and sings to himself till about almost 3pm, before dropping off to sleep. We tried having them nap together, but it was disastrous as Dan's singing kept Ben up and they ended up both not sleeping at all! So, Dan and Ben sleep together AT NIGHT. But for naps, Dan sleeps in our spare bedroom, which is also where Julie our helper sleeps at night.

Anyway, we finally decided to make the kids' room look nice. So, we bought this double decker bed from IKEA!! Plus a whole bunch of BESTA shelves for storage.

I am really really happy with the way the room is looking. We also bought some storage shelves for the outside play area, and I have to say, our house is looking much LESS crowded and chaotic, all thanks for IKEA!
