Daniel singing along & video

On a particularly tired afternoon last week, I found myself nua-ing on the sofa with the kids. I usually try to do something 'stimulating' with them, like playing blocks, puzzles, cooking, games like hide and seek, or at least, talking about something or other.

But that day, I was too tired to even talk. Ben had not been sleeping well for his naps, so he kinda just sat next to me, blank and tired too. Dan also didn't sleep well, because Ben had been crying so much. But to my surprise, he had the energy to turn on the CD player and start singing! (Well, it's not that surprising actually. He IS quite hyperactive!) He used his lego blocks as a microphone and my CD jacket album as a 'pedestal', and began singing along to Steve Green.

Who is Steve Green? He's the songwriter and singer for the Hide Em In Your Heart series of CDs--the intrepid S recommended them to me years ago, saying she would play them for her son G since he was a baby and now, at 3 years old, he can sing them by heart! True enough, I have been playing these CDs on and off for Daniel and he can sing them by heart too! We have Volume 1 in the car and Volume 2 at home!

The Steve Green CDs are special because every word of every song is a Bible Verse. So, by learning the songs, you are actually learning the Bible by heart too! I find the tunes catchy and very edifying for even adults to listen and memorise.

Anyway, here's a video of Daniel's singing along performance. Daniel's singing recharged me slightly. And Ben seemed to love it too!
