Milo Cookies

Posted by spots (Singapore, Singapore) on 29 October 2008 in Food & Cuisine and Portfolio.

I had read about these on another mommy cooking blog and eagerly tried them out this afternoon. Daniel, Benjamin and I have been having a cooking date once a week for the past few months. We've made lots of stuff, from Bakwan Kepeting (they helped me pat the meatballs into shape), Puffy Prawns (they helped me rip off prawn heads) to Pizza to Chocolate Banana Bread (they helped me mash the bananas and bash the chocolate into bits). I really should have been more conscientious about blogging about our cooking escapades, but with all the mess in the kitchen that 2 little "helpers" can bring, it's been hard to take pics along the way.
Anyway, these milo cookies turned out to be a cute and fun baking experience. Daniel made a couple which looked more like aliens or gnarled monsters! (Think: 3 ears, 2 noses hidden under the ears, no mouth!) But we all had fun.
As for how the cookies tasted, I'm sad to report that they were really not that great. the recipe does not call for sugar, and I used milo (not the 3 in 1 sort which has sugar). The result was a very floury cookie. Not great tasting, but at least, a fun escapade for the kids!
