Dan Sleeps

This is a picture from early June when we took both kids to Church Camp in Malacca. It was a good experience, definitely better than I had expected. As we slept in the same room, we discovered something new about Dan--he doesn't sleep straight away after we put him to bed. Normally, at home, after a storybook or two, we'd pray for him as he drinks his milk, then it's lights out and we leave the room with a night light on. This is around 8.30pm. I don't hear from him till 7am the next day. It's become such a standard and stable routine that we didn't ever question what happens after we close the door to his room. But now we know.
At church camp, after feeding him milk, I said "Good night." and then left him in his makeshift bed and went to the toilet to wash up. When I came back out, Dan wasn't sleeping! He was talking to himself, recalling the events of the day and telling himself a story involving something "Very BIIIG" that came "Crashing down Crussssssh!" ??? This went on for about 30mins before he finally fell asleep. That was pretty funny. :)
So now we know.
