This is our current favourite chicken wing recipe which I kind of made up, based on Nami's family recipe. It's simple: 3tb teriyaki sauce (I use Kikkoman), 3tb sake, 3 (flat) tb brown sugar, 2tb dark soya sauce. Combine all of that and use it to marinade about 20 or 30 wings (when I say wings, I mean separated parts). Fire up your oven to maximum temperate and set to grill function. Pack in your marinated wings in a single row and sprinkle some mixed Italian herbs over them, before placing them into the oven at the rack level that is closest to the top of the oven. Grill for 20mins, flipping them over halfway.
Tanah! Hope you enjoy them!
p.s. this would be a good time to highlight that I have moved ALL my recipes (since I started blogging in 2004) to this aminus3.com site. Just go to Archive and click on recipe or food or cooking in the tag cloud. Or, key in a specific recipe under "Search". You can also search for other entries that way, e.g., click on video in the tag cloud and you'll get a list of all videos. Click on Daniel and you'll see all entries related to Daniel. And so on. Cheers!
Yums! Go easy on the sugar! :)

Is this picture of the wings while marinating or after they've been grilled?

I suppose Lynette meant to ask where the gravy came from if the chicken wings were grilled. I have been wondering the same thing. The picture is of the chicken wings after they have been grilled because some of them look singed or is that just the gooey marinade?? Looks yummy either way.

Er... the pic is after the wings hv been grilled la... the gravy? i kinda dumped the marinade in with the wings, swathing them with the marinade before grilling.... so after you take them out, jus drip the marinade over the wings to get the gravy lor!

Ermmm..so this would be "uncooked" gravy? I was wondering if it would be wise to actually put the gravy on a stove and fire it up a bit since raw meat would have been in this gravy??

It's not uncooked! It's been cooked in the oven which is set at 220 degree celsius or more for 20 mins. !!? How is that uncooked?

For some reason, it was not immediately clear to me - it is now. You please forgive me - English my 5th language...

Hi Ruth! I tried this recipe and it turns out great and yummy! I think i added too much sugar, so its abit sweet :P I'm always on the look out for your recipes, its not easy to cook and invent new dishes especially juggling around the household/kids and daily stuffs.

Hi Reen, hey am glad u liked it! Yea, the sugar has to be flat table spoons, otherwise too sweet. :) And brown sugar is less sweet than white sugar too! :)
