OK OK I know it's been a super long time since I blogged. To my horror, I just realised I didn't post a single entry in the entire month of April. Well. The truth is, my computer died on me. I was still using it, all the way up to the point where it was crashing on me at least once a day. Then, on a solemn evening in March, it absolutely died on me. Kaput. Refused to even reboot. RIP.
Since then, I have been feeling a subconscious sense of betrayal by technology and so have been avoiding all things tech-y for a while. I am now posting on my Hubby's Beloved Mac. And ... am considering getting a Mac myself. I hate the idea of proprietary software, but at least a Mac doesn't have all the viruses and vulnerabilities Windows seems to exhibit.
Don't worry, all my photos were NOT LOST in THE DEATH OF MY COMPUTER because I've been using an external hard drive since eons ago. And here's something I fished out of my collection--it was taken by a friend actually, and it's fairly recent. Dan and Ben "playing" in the worship band at church. Dan is showing an affinity for the drums (though not shown in this picture). And we perched Ben on a couple of chairs stacked up together and he started tinkering on the keyboard like a born natural! I do hope my sons will both grow up to play instruments--I think the guitar and the piano would be good "foundation" instruments to start learning, though I do hope they could move onto the violin, cello or drums! HAHA. I do have high hopes from my sons don't I? We shall see what happens...
Macs Rock!!!

It really depends on what you DO on your laptop/desktop. If you don't need any special software that runs on Windows boxes, or there are cheap and good alternatives that you can get for the software that you're using, then Macs are a good idea. Having said that, the learning curve on how to use it and how to navigate around to get the files you want is a little steep, but with practice on your hubby's Mac I'm sure it shouldn't be a problem.
FYI, even Macs die. That's why we give all hardware a five year depreciation budget.
