So right after I blogged about the Botanics last week, Ben started walking- confidently, and all by himself! It was amazing! At first, I thought it was like a fluke and he'd quickly revert back to holding onto stuff to keep going, but he didn't! It is really something else to see him go off on his own, unaided, exploring the house, exploring the outdoors, exploring... Here's a shot of him at our latest family walk - at Kallang Riverside, also known I think as the Stadium Waterfront.
Now I have 2 kids who are walking! And it's mighty cute! If memory serves, Ben started walking much quicker than Daniel. By before 12 months, he was already walking by holding onto my skirt, or just one hand. Daniel never did that, always insisting that we hold his two hands all the way till he was 13.5 months. But the difference is that even though Ben started walking assisted much faster, it took him until 13 months to start walking independently. In the case of Daniel, while we had to do the hold-his-two-hands thing for longer, once he started walking at 13.5 months, HE STARTED RUNNING. LITERALLY. I think this shows up a distinct difference between my two boys - Dan is definitely faster to adapt to changes, although the lead-up to the change may be slow. But for Ben, his is a more slow and gradual approach. Isn't that interesting?
wow!!!
he sure does grow up fast right...
and he still look so cute:D
haha yay!:D

When Ben was born, I said that Dan and Ben will grow up with different attributes from learning to walk till they set up their own homes. The challenge for you and Bim is to see them through this process, hopefully enjoying it. We are glad that Ben is enjoying his freedom, being mobile independently. For the moment do keep an alert watch over him so that he stands up smiling after each fall.
