A few things I miss about America/California

Posted by spots (Singapore, Singapore) on 23 June 2007 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

From top to bottom, left to right:
1. Being able to have a picnic amidst such stunning view of the Bay, on a cool, sunny day!

2. Having a endless supply of outdoor toys for Daniel to play with, including this motorcycle. (We lived in Escondido Village, Stanford U, where families who had moved out donated plenty of toys to the courtyard for future families to enjoy.)

3. Being within 5 minutes' driving distance of stunning nature and a beautiful sunset, which Daniel enjoyed.

4. Satura Cakes! Nuff Said!

5. ONLINE SHOPPING - Singapore's online shopping industry pales in wan yellow comparison. This bag is from Baghaus.

6. Creative and yummy California sushi rolls - like this yummy-looking dragon roll. Sushi in America has a life of its own. At Flagstaff Arizona, during our Grand Canyon and Sedona trip, we ate at Karma, and tasted a sushi roll with caviar, cream cheese and unagi. Such fusion! Yums! In Palo Alto where Stanford is, there is this crazy sushi bar called Miyake - if it's your birthday, they turn on their disco ball lights and all the waiters and waitresses stand on the bar and dance for you. Only in America man! Can someone tell me where to find great sushi rolls in Singapore?

7. Stunning beach views - the scenery in California is just unparalleled.

8. Being able to spend a lazy spring afternoon OUTDOORS without getting all sweaty and sticky - even Ben enjoyed it!

9. The hallowed halls of Stanford
