Dan: first boat ride

We went to a friend's place for BBQ. They lived at Redwood Shores, near Redwood City, and there was a beautiful artificial lake there, with a playground nearby. Dan took his first boat ride (on a canoe!). It was simply beautiful. I still can't get over how large this country is, and how the average American will be able to own his own house, with his own backyard, garage, garden... and sometimes, even canoe (to go boating in the lake with!). I will definitely miss the open spaces and the prosperity of this country.
