Some of you may be wondering how Benjamin fared on his first plane ride. *drum roll* He was great! Praise God! Actually, I find air travel with infants much easier than air travel with toddlers. We took Daniel on his first plane ride (to Phuket) when he was 4 months old. And Benjamin, who is 3+ months old, was just as easy going. I just had to breastfeed him when the plane took off and landed so as to help him adjust to the changing air pressure. Other than that, he was asleep or kicking about by himself, like in this video.
Originally, Husband had pre-booked our seats so that we would all be in one row, i.e., Husband (with Daniel on his lap), Me (with Benjamin on my lap) and my mom. However, when we got to the airport, they told us we would have to be ... separated! This is because not more than one lap child is allowed in any one row. We were a bit panicky at the thought of being separated, plus it was so last minute! But, this change turned out to be a blessing. Husband (& Daniel) were placed in an empty row where Daniel had more space & even got an empty seat to himself! And as for me, since Husband's seat next to me was empty, I got to put Benjamin down instead of carrying him all the time! Praise God!!
Ben (and Dan) should count themselves "lucky" to be able to travel in an aeroplane at such joung age. Well, Bim remarked recently that he was only able to travel overseas at age 12. Ben looked comfortable in the video. I hope that the video could be archived for his later viewing to know how "lucky" he was.
