Daniel: a regular parrot

Posted by spots (Singapore, Singapore) on 12 April 2007 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

At 19+ months, Daniel is a regular parrot. Meaning, he parrots a lot of things that we do, including:

1. Cooking - he'll take his plastic animals and dump them in a pot that we give him, and 'cook' them.

2. Brushing teeth - he'll take a toothbrush we leave in the drawer and brush his teeth with it.

3. Using moisturising cream - he'll take the bottle of cream and try to squeeze out the cream and put it on his face. He'll even be generous enough to try to put some on my face!

4. Cutting nails - he'll take the nailcutter and try to cut my toenails.

5. Breastfeeding - (ok I've only seen this once, not regularly, but it was hilarious) he'll take his beanie baby panda bear and put it to his chest and say, "feed baby!" with a big smile.

6. Exercise - he'll follow my mom in doing stretches and lifting his hands up and down.

7. Vacuuming - he'll mimic the sound and motion of the vacuum

8. Sweeping - nuff said. I've already blogged about this here.

9. Combing hair - he'll take our brushes and combs to comb his hair. He also mistakes his plastic saw (from his toy toolset) for a comb and use that to brush his hair!

10. Talking on the phone - see the video in this entry.

I must say, spending a lot of time with a clueless infant certainly makes me appreciate Daniel's antics a lot more!
