Benjamin: out & about

It is true what they say: you are a lot more relaxed with the 2nd child, compared to the first. Benjamin is 2 weeks old, and already we've taken him out a couple of times. Last week, we attended a Chinese New Year celebration dinner for all Singaporeans in the Bay Area. Yesterday, we watched Breach, a fine movie by the way! And today, we went to Mitchell Park for Daniel to run around & have fun. All three times, we brought Benjamin along, or shall we say, we lugged him along, in our trusty Graco infant car seat - he slept through everything! ^__^ (OK, well, he DID stir a bit during the movie, when the music was LOUD).

I think bringing your kid out before the first month is still a no-no in some circles in Singapore. But in America, it is very very common. Most of the parents we talked to said that they too brought their infants out to shop or watch movies before the first month was up as well. Thank GOD my parents do not have any problem with it. It's good for mommy (i.e. ME) to be able to spend time with Daniel & husband this way, without having to be chained to a chair because she has to breastfeed every 3/3.5 hours.
