We made a quick trip down to Santa Cruz after church today. The weather was nice and a walk along the Santa Cruz boardwalk yielded many nice pictures (this one included - not photoshopped, i promise!) and exciting moments. Exciting moments? Indeed - while just standing there staring at the waters, we witnessed a swarm of pelicans doing nosedives into the water to fish for prey, plus a school of seals swimming by, and not to mention a whole lot of seagulls. Watch this video if you don't believe me.
The trip was particularly instructive for Daniel, who at 17 months, is picking up new words every day. The other day he said "cousin", then a day later, "castle". Then when Husband was praying before dinner asking God to heal me from my sickness, Daniel picked up the word "Ruth", and started pointing at me! HAHA. Today, he learnt "waves" - yup, those santa cruz waves are really surf-friendly. But no surfers today - water too cold I sppose!
A beautiful picture indeed! Such blue skies and colourful kayaks and canoes!

Hey! Where is the "video" ? Can't see the seals and seaguls.
Yes, you should add "Po Po" to Dan's vocab too! :-)

Really not photoshopped? The colors of the pic are amazing. It's nice that Daniel is learning to talk so well, usually kids just say 'mum mum', and they mean food.

Dad - click on the "watch this video" in the text above. Hwee - yes, really not photoshopped, I promise! Daniel's talkativeness is quite nice, though a bit noisy sometimes!

Hey, I can see the seals and seagulls now. Thanks for pointing it to me. The embedded link wasn't that obvious to me. Dan sure learnt many things in this trip, I hope. Let him talk as much as possible. Its timely now that he is building up his vocabulary and communication skills too ! :-)

interesting things you did. The building at the left side looks very interesting. Did you take a photo with the boats on the right side and more of this magnificent background on the left?

@Dimitrios: unfortunately, no. the building on the left is part of an amusement park that's located on the beach of santa cruz! apparently, it's been there since the 1950s - hence the interesting architecture!
